The Center for Effective Collaboration and Practice (CECP) maintains an extensive web site developed to improve services to youngsters with emotional and behavioral disorders.  You'll find many resources including contacts to a wide network of researchers, organizations, and child-serving programs; research-based information on EBD youth; interactive discussions with experts in the field; and a large collection of links on a variety of topics, including education, families, mental health, juvenile justice, child welfare, early intervention, and school violence, to name a few.

This part of the "Gentle Teaching" site describes an approach to dealing with youngsters that is much needed in our profession: the provision of unswerving kindness toward those who need it most, but often try to reject it (initially).  A good refresher for all of us who entered the profession because we wanted to help kids with emotional and behavioral disorders.
