The child is made to wipe up the liquid on the floor AND the liquid that is then repeatedly thrown on the floor by the teacher.

Pretty mean, huh?  What if the youngster refuses to do what is required?  Will you force him to do it by using hand-over-hand pressure? (Do you have the strength to do so and do you wish to model coercion of others?)

These are the concerns we hold for some of the overcorrection procedures.  Perhaps the child can be given a choice of doing overcorrection voluntarily OR taking some other consequence.  If many other interventions have failed, then perhaps this form of overcorrection can be justified.  It is probably best to approve the procedure with the parents/guardians and your supervisor/administrator.
